ASPEN KARTING CLUB

Karting activities in Haparanda started in year 1989.

Aspen Karting Club has been registered on both the Swedish and Finnish carsportsocieties, the Karting track in Haparanda was also the first in the world that was associeted in two different countries.

TRACK

The Karting track in Haparanda is locating in Vojakkala near Karsikkojärvi.

Track constructing started in the late 1989. During spring, the bigger stones and trees were removed and the track itself got a layout ready for a surface. Finally, in the start of the summer the track got an asphalt surface and was completely ready in June 1990.

Because of some cavities. The track got a new asphalt surface during the end of summer in year 2006.

COMPETITIONS

Karting competitions in Haparanda has been arranged 2-3 times annually from both the Swedish and Finnish side.

The Swedish side arranges one North Sweden Championship competition annually.

The Finnish side arranges one camp like event that includes teaching for beginners about driving and competitions and lastly there will be a competition on the last day. Sometimes Finland also arranges a North Finland championship event at Aspen Karting Clubs track.

MEMBERS

Aspen Karting Club has had members both from the Swedish and Finnish sides since year 1990.

From Sweden there has been members from Haparanda, Kalix, Övertorneå and Luleå.

From Finland there has been members from Tornio, Kemi and Oulu.

RENTAL KARTING

Every day during summers there has been visitors who have been interested to test Karting.

Besides Sweden and Finland there has been people visiting us among others from Norway, Denmark, Germany, England, USA and Australia.
